Organization
Richfield Village exists as a chartered municipality within the
boundaries of Richfield Township.
The Township has a population of 2,000 and the Village has 3,300
residents.
Village and Township public services are independently organized
as follows: Richfield Village has a chartered form of government with a mayor
and seven members of council.
Village property owners pay no operating levies. There are no
fire and police levies and there are no charges for rescue calls, brush
chipping, road paving and resurfacing, and street lights.
Richfield Township is a less densely populated area that
surrounds the Village. As a township it is governed by three trustees and the
laws of the State of Ohio.
Property owners pay no charges for rescue and fire calls. Road
maintenance and the Township Police Department are funded by operating levies.
Richfield has toll-free calling to all of the Cleveland telephone exchanges and
reduced rates to Akron.

- Township commercial/industrial real estate net rate - 48.88
per $1,000.
- Township personal property tax - 80.21 per $1,000. Summit
County Sales Tax is 5.75%.
